Why is Horseradish called horseradish?

Dude, I wanna know!

Last time, I knew horses had nothing to do with radishes. Wait! Why is it called horse + radish? What do RADISHES have to do with it? There are no radishes or horses in horseradish mustard, it makes no sense to me.

Just to let you know horseradish mustard doesn’t taste good on salad.
